What is a room we get called to do all the time? From some repeat customers about once a year? That’s right, the baby’s room.
Here is the before picture for this project. You can see, it is far from a cozy, cute room that little baby can relax in. There isn’t even a crib. Not good..
You see, it’s a proven fact that babies are smarter, well behaved and happier when their room is filled with as much molding as possible!
Ok, maybe I made that up. But, you have to agree it is more fun when they have an amazing room you can show off to your friends… oh, and they can also enjoy it for years to come. 🙂
Now here is the after picture. Baby likes this room much more. We replaced the carpet, added new 5.25″ baseboards and painted the room with two paint colors. A light grey and a contrasting black on two accent walls .It started out as one accent wall of black, but after that was finished Mommy decided that looked so good it had to continue onto the adjacent wall.
Then came the real fun. We added some panel molding to the walls in a bright white paint and had them separated into two sections. The top half of the moldings really looked sharp as they followed the changing slopes of the crown molding, which was installed on the vaulted ceiling. It really became a cool and unique looking room once it was finished. I’m sure Mom will add more decorations to the room as the baby gets closer to moving in!
On a side note, people always ask us if crown molding looks good on a vaulted ceiling or if we even install it on those types of ceilings. The answer is “Yes”. We install it all the time on vaulted ceilings and it looks just as good as crown installed on standard ceilings.
Here are some another picture of the adjacent wall. You can click on all the pictures to enlarge them. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
