This was a real fun piece to do. The homeowners in French Valley, CA saw this in a model home and took a picture. They then asked me if I could re-create it… “Of course I can!”, I said.
It’s very similar to a coffered ceiling, except that it is located on a wall in the family room/dining area. We created different sized beams out of mdf and baseboards, then finish off the top and base with some crown molding and base.
Once the unit was all painted, we had custom mirrors cut and installed them inside the squares for a very unique wall mirror!
This really made the room feel larger and created a unique focal point.
