You know all those niches you see in new houses these days??? This is what they can look like filled with custom cabinets!
On this job in Murrieta, CA, the homeowner gave me a picture and said “I want it to look just like the picture”. Well, I didn’t do that.. I made them a little better!
The two niches on the sides of the television were empty, so we built these cool bookshelves with storage cabinets below and glass cabinets on top. There are some different sized open shelves in the middle and the top is finished off with a smaller version of crown molding than we did in the rest of the room.
There were tons of wires for the TV, components and the surround sound speakers, which are hidden in the right side cabinet below.
“How the heck do the remotes work through a solid door?” you ask… Well, the homeowner hooked up a infra red system to all the components and it works like a charm. You put a tiny sensor next to the TV and hook up another piece to all the components you want to use with a remote (Satellite, DVD, Stereo, Etc.) and the remotes all work with the doors closed.
